Who we are:
Red Leap is a women-led theatre company, based in Tāmaki Makaurau.
Crossing the forms of physical theatre, imagery and storytelling, we believe in playful discovery, the power of the imagination, and building a strong ensemble of performers.
Our mission is to create high quality, original visual theatre that pushes creative boundaries, transforms how the audience relates to theatre and celebrates and supports women’s stories and talents.
Please see our website for more information on who we are and what we do.
Our board of Trustees meets approximately once every one to two months, to review, guide, and challenge the company’s activities.
As a Trustee, you will assist in the strategic development and operations of the Red Leap Charitable Trust, including (but not limited to):
Helping set the direction of the organisation; and ensuring that the programme offered is compatible with the mission and objectives of Red Leap. Also ensuring that these are responsive and relevant to the needs of the wider Community.
Who we’re looking for:
Red Leap regards diversity and inclusion as essential to successfully and sustainably achieving our goals. We are committed to diversifying our governance team and are actively seeking out new Pasifika or Maori members. It would be a bonus if you are a part of the LGBTQ+ community.
We welcome applications from all individuals, regardless of board experience.
We require an interest or experience in the performing arts industry.
We expect our trustees to:
Be committed to Red Leap in a manner consistent with our mission, objectives, and policies.
Attend regular board meetings.
Proactively engage in group decision-making and help develop an inclusive sense of shared purpose. Decision-making will be by consensus wherever possible.
Challenge and debate with each other in respectful and constructive ways and always in the best interests of the organisation
Have meetings that are inclusive; board members listen to and seek to understand each other’s views and make collective decisions.
