Te Mahi Tahi Classes
Te Mahi Tahi is a weekly company class that unites the artists across Red Leap's various projects under one roof. It also creates another avenue to bring new actors into the company, as we continue to develop skills and ensemble towards future work.
The aim of Te Mahi Tahi is to:
- Build ensemble and company culture
- Build fitness
- Build skills and tools
- Keep devising minds active and engaged
- Establish a sense of the wider Red Leap company, beyond individual projects
- Introduce new artists to the company

Class full
Run by Red Leap Artistic Director Ella Becroft, this 5-week course explores Red Leap Theatre's approach to process when directing and producing devised theatre.
The classes will be a mixture of discussion and practical activities. We will cover idea generation and text development, approaches to writing effective devising tasks and provocations, how to scaffold a devising process, our tools and techniques for creating a safe and brave working environment, and producing tips for independent artists.
Each class will encourage all participating artists to contribute their approaches and ideas, emphasising shared knowledge and fostering a community of theatre makers.
