The Greenhouse is an opportunity for devising theatre makers who identify as women to be artistically supported in the development of a new work. Although applications are not open this year, please do get in touch with us if you have any questions about future Greenhouse opportunities.
The Greenhouse is a two-part process which aims to support directors to find avenues for getting your work made. It will support and upskill you with tools to create original, creatively invigorating theatre.
Part One consists of a weekend hui comprising of six practical workshops with leaders in their field, covering all aspects of a work development – from writing funding applications and budgets, to approaches to set design, physical devising, and storytelling. This hui is for a group of 10-15 theatre makers.
Part Two consists of a two-week development workshop facilitated by Red Leap Theatre, resulting in a work-in-progress showing. Productions will be selected from Part One to go forward to this workshop, and will be given a $5,000 budget as a contribution towards costs.
We will encourage connection and collaboration to unlock the potential of new ideas.
The Greenhouse will not be running in 2022, but we welcome any enquiries for 2023
