INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP PROGRAMME
"Working with Red Leap is an excellent introduction to the very best of storytelling and physical theatre. Their approach is subtle, inventive and playful, so the learning for the participant comes thick and fast. I would recommend their workshops highly." NEIL HARRIS, SHATIN COLLEGE, HONG KONG
Full Flight is Red Leap Theatre’s new international programme, extending our renowned theatre workshops into an ongoing creative journey for students and teachers.
Our ethos as a devising company, and with Full Flight, is to harness the power of collaboration through inspiring bravery and creative empowerment.
Two senior Red Leap artists ignite ensemble-based, design-led physical storytelling; blending movement, puppetry, object animation, light and sound to show students how to create world-class theatre through our in-person workshops.
Alongside our acclaimed residencies, we now offer online follow-on engagements to keep the momentum alive. Our newly launched Red Leap Alumni Network connects young artists to a global community through quarterly creative challenges, masterclasses, and mentoring.
With clear learning objectives, tried-and-true programmes and professional development support for teachers, Full Flight gives schools sustained artistic growth, a world-class badge of partnership and a vibrant pathway for students who want to keep soaring long after our time together.

The Red Leap Devising Method
Ensemble-driven, design-led physical storytelling.
Collaboration is the engine; movement, object manipulation and imaginative world-building are the tools; all resulting in visually arresting, collectively authored stories.
Our workshops explore a series of devising provocations
- ‘Make the impossible possible’ through the potential of stylising action and engaging the audiences imaginations
- Build ensemble and supportive collaborative practice within the classroom through an emphasis on showing and feedback
- Work mostly without language, allowing students to think creatively around how to use space, sound, light, set and physicality to tell their story
- Employ fast devising time frames to get students out of their heads and onto their feet
- Explore how rules and restriction allow for creative freedom
"Having Red Leap Theatre work with our Drama and Theatre students here at UWCSEA East was a truly amazing experience. In preparation for their Collaborative Theatre Projects, our IBDP students were able to fully immerse themselves in the creative approaches that Red Leap use when devising. At all levels, the breadth of approaches explored was significant including puppetry, found objects, movement and scene building. We found Ella and Julie really quite wonderful when engaging with our students across the Middle and High schools and the students responded extremely positively to their visit and the impact that the workshops had on their own theatre. We would jump at the chance to have them work in our school again." Head of Drama, UWCSEA East Campus, Singapore

SUSTAINED ENGAGEMENT
Following on from our in-person workshops we offer opportunities for students to stay connected with Red Leap, allowing us to continue to support their learning journey as they take our tools into their assessment tasks.

"Our students are still buzzing from the week and will continue to talk about their experiences for a long time yet. We appreciated the time, energy and effort that went into structuring the activities as well as the expectation that students participated and performed at a high level." ASH HUXTABLE, AUSTRALIA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL SINGAPORE

“A few weeks after the workshop, the students were tasked with leading an exploration to their small groups. Every student succeeded in leading and giving instructions. Each group generated multiple moments of theatre that had great potential to develop for their final pieces. It was clear that they gained confidence by seeing how it's not "difficult" to just play if they allow themselves to play. I could see they gained confidence and were proud of what they created in a short amount of time.” Teacher feedback, NIST International School, Thailand
